No longer Any Need To Rip Out Existing Work Tops
As seen in the image above a before and after shot of a customers existing worktop. We were able to save the client the hassle of bringing in a kitchen fitter and purchasing new worktops by refurbishing the existing tops right in the customers home.
Although the images don’t do the finished job justice, the match was perfect to the existing wall and base units and the client was delighted with her new glitter effect epoxy resin countertops.
Refurbs of this type are restricted to Glasgow and surrounding areas and anywhere in Lanarkshire. Customers further afield can order our products solely based on the images on our page or in our video. We can send a sample board via post in one-foot square MDF for a cost of 15 Gbps. It would then be up to the customer to hire a kitchen company or local joiner to install.
The Refurb Method And Time Frame
It will take 2 days to refurbish countertops in your house. Firstly we have to mask off your kitchen units and floors to avoid any spillage of the resin contacting units and white goods or your floor or walls.
On day one we will sand down your tops and carry out any repairs to your worktop if needed, then apply a sealer and a basecoat of your choice and allow to dry.
We will arrive around 9 am in the morning and take around 3 to 4 hours for this process. Later in the afternoon when the paint and primer basecoat has dried we will return to apply your first coat of epoxy resin and tints if required.
This will need 10 to 12 hours to cure overnight before we arrive the next day to apply a final flood coat of resin which will give a glass finish that your friends and family will envy.
It may seem like a lot of hassle but after the first day, you will be amazed at the transformation to your kitchen. In most cases, it is better to have a plumber to take out your sink before we arrive to start the refurb.
This method would be best suited to newly purchased properties before you move in. Though if you can stand the pressure of not using the kitchen for a few days the pros will out-way the cons in the end.
Looking After Your worktops after The Refurb
Although your new tops will be very tough and durable and last you for years to come like any other work surface it is advised never to cut any foods directly on the work surface. Always use a chopping board like you would on any other tops to save on scratching the surface this only makes sense although the resin countertops are food safe they will scratch if they come in contact with a sharp knife just like any others.
